New Jersey Regional Extension Center Expands Relationship with BluePrint Healthcare IT

CRANBURY NJ - BluePrint Healthcare IT, a leading provider of business software solutions and consulting services that enable health systems to establish secure, connected and coordinated communities of care, today announced that NJ-HITEC is expanding the deployment of BluePrint: Secure.

BluePrint: Secure is a web-based privacy and security portal designed to facilitate organizational compliance with privacy and security regulations, standards, and best practices. The longstanding agreement also affords NJ-HITEC members access to consulting support from BluePrint's portfolio of privacy and security consulting services as they prepare for Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements.

NJ-HITEC, the Regional Extension Center for the State of New Jersey, is the physician's trusted advisor in the timely delivery of high quality healthcare through the selection, implementation, and achievement of Meaningful Use of an accredited Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. NJ-HITEC currently serves more than 7, 400 members - 5,675 users are live on an EHR system and 2,414 have qualified for Meaningful Use Stage 1. NJ-HITEC initiated its relationship with BluePrint in 2011 to support its members in the completion of the mandatory security risk analysis required by Meaningful Use Core Objective 15. It was not feasible for NJ-HITEC's team of field agents to visit each practice personally, and it was critical to NJ-HITEC that the risk assessment process was executed consistently with high member satisfaction.

NJ-HITEC procured an initial allotment of 625 licenses, added 1,000 licenses in 2012 and will add 1,000 more licenses via its agreement with BluePrint. The agreement also provides NJ-HITEC members with the ability to request, schedule, and procure consulting support - pursuant to a preferred fee schedule - directly with BluePrint's team of security and privacy professionals all from within BluePrint: Secure. This level of support is critical as NJ-HITEC members prepare for Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements.

"NJ-HITEC selected BluePrint: Secure for the quality of its content, its ease of use for our member physicians, as well as our team of field agents - and for the visibility that it provides our leadership team to assess the needs of our members," stated Bill O'Byrne, Executive Director, NJ-HITEC. "Our relationship with BluePrint has evolved. BluePrint enhanced the functionality of its BluePrint: Secure software to address our need for a higher level of interaction with our members around their remediation plans and to support their progress on those plans. Further, NJ-HITEC will now offer an enhanced level of remediation support services - activity that will now be visible, tracked, and auditable in BluePrint: Secure. This advanced business model further supports our commitment to the highest level of service for our members and our sustainability plan."

"We are proud to be associated with one of the most successful and advanced RECs in the country, stated Vikas Khosla, President and CEO of BluePrint Healthcare IT. "NJ-HITEC is consistently looking for ways to provide its members value and promote the robust and secure use of health IT. That a national leader in the healthcare transformation movement has continued to expand its utilization of our software is very validating. Privacy and security are complex issues for physician practices and other provider organizations. We are very appreciative of the opportunity NJ-HITEC has given us to assist in making the process easier for their members."

BluePrint: Secure - along with the company's entire portfolio of software solutions - will be showcased at the 2013 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference and exhibition in New Orleans, March 3-7 (Booth 8223).
